Heritage Hawks Welcome to Heritage Academy. School news "Somalis + Minnesota" Exhibit Opening Celebration Friday, June 22, 2018 9:45 AM Explore Somali culture, from life in Africa, through the massive migration that began in the 1990s, to today’s large, well-established Minnesota Somali community. This exhibit was developed in partnership with the Somali Museum of Minnesota. On opening day, Sat., Jun 23, 2018, celebrate with free admission to the museum, activities for the entire family, and a chance to meet friends and neighbors during a Sambusa Saturday while enjoying a sambusa and Somali tea. Activities are offered through 3 pm and include performances by the Somali Museum Dance Troupe, poetry, storytelling, weaving demonstrations, film screenings, and an art project to take home. Copies of the new cookbook by the MNHS teen program, Wariyaa, Soo Fariista/Come Sit Down: A Somali American Cookbook will be available for purchase. Summer Go-To Passes on Sale Sunday, June 17, 2018 8:25 AM Students can get a summer's worth of rides on buses and light rail for just $29 with the Summer Student Pass! From June 1 through Sept. 4, students can get unlimited rides on buses and trains up to a $3.25 fare (for fares higher than that amount, like some Northstar trips, just add stored value to your pass). Passes can be used between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. daily.
