Positive Behavior and Interventions and Supports System (PBIS)

What is PBIS?

Positive Behavior and Interventions and Supports System is a school wide approach to discipline and process for creating a safe and more effective schools. The process focuses on improving a school’s ability to teach and support positive behavior for all students by developing a research-based, school wide acknowledgement system to follow.

Why PBIS at Heritage?

We are continually working to make Heritage Academy a school where everyone feels safe, comfortable, and able to achieve academically.  We strive to maintain a strong community of students, staff, and families that functions using systematic and research based procedures for behavior and academics.

Heritage Academy has adopted a unified set of values.  These values define student behavior in our school and how we want students to act.  Students will see these expectations posted throughout the school and they will be learning and practicing them throughout the school year.

A Heritage student is…
